Wolverhampton is well supplied with places to get a coffee. This one is in the Wulfrun Centre.

Pawn Broker

I don't remember many Pawn Brokers when I was young but they seem to have increased in recent years. This one has been around for a while.

This should be the terminus of the Metro tram to Birmingham but is closed at  the moment due to extra tramways being built. City of Wolverhampton college in the background.

This has appeared where the Barbara Hepworth 'Rock Form' sculpture once stood. I think it is meant to be a Christmas tree.

Old and New

In the fore ground is the Queen's building , built in 1849 as the entrance and ticket office for the railway station. In the distance, Victoria tower student accommodation, built in 2009.

Built in 2009 as student accommodation, this is the tallest modular building in the country.

Now houses the Lighthouse cinema and a cafe.

History

This structure outside the Dog and Partridge was probably a hitching post. Not many horses to tie up these days!

School

My old primary school, Neachells lane. No longer a school  and the grounds very neglected. It was difficult to get a photo due to all the overgrown bushes.

Cold weather food

No ice cream stalls now. Something to warm the hands on a cold day.

Market

Sadly depleted outdoor market patch.

Paving

New paving in Market Street.

Dome

The dome of Darlington Street Methodist church. It must have looked splendid when it was first built and the copper was visible.
