Looking towards the old Town Hall. At one time the rear of the Market Hall was on the right, now it is just a car park for council staff.

Art gallery

The art gallery in Lichfield street has some interesting exhibits. This sculpture is made from wire coat-hangers.

From Goldthorn Hill

Doris Archer

This house on Goldthorn hill was once the home of Gwen Berriman, the actress who for many years played the part of Doris Archer in the radio soap 'The Archers'.

Reservoirs

Covered reservoirs at the top of Goldthorn hill supply water to
 the centre and SW of the city.

Wishbone Bridge

Usually carries the Midland Metro tram line into the city centre but not in use at the moment as repairs are still being carried out.

Another old street name. Presumably it once led to a well, but no longer.

Yates Wine Lodge

This was built on the site of the old Hippodrome theatre which sadly burnt down in 1956. I even appeared on the stage here myself, in a charity dancing display.

There is no longer an independent council for Wednesfield since it was taken over by Wolverhampton. Not sure what the building is used for now.
