Crane
The crane is on the Penn road on the site of a complex of sheltered housing for the elderly. In the distance two shropshire hills are just visible. On the left the Long Mynd, behind the crane the Wrekin.

Pillars
Two pillars outside St. Peter's with 1000 years between them. On the left the Saxon pillar dating from the 9th century and on the right the 20th century war memorial.

Winter
A few patches of snow were visible on the Brown Clee this morning. At 2am my lawn was also covered with a sprinkling of the white stuff, but by morning it had gone. We have been spoiled this autumn with very mild weather, hope this isn't about to change.

Hospital
Diabetes centre New Cross. The original victorian buildings on the site (originally a workhouse) have mostly been replaced with something more modern.

New multistorey carpark at New Cross hospital. Hope this removes some of the congestion of parking in nearby streets.

Magpie
A not-so- welcome visitor to my garden. He, or his relatives, sabotaged my Blackbirds' nest twice last spring so in the end they went elsewhere.

Bench
This concrete bench in Princess street was commissioned from China at a cost of £20,000. Locals consider that the public money could have been put to better use.
