Beatties' Plaque

Blue plaque marking the founding of Beatties department store. The present owners wanted to change the name to show their 'corporate image' but Wulfrunians would have none of it. Beatties it was, is now and ever will be.

Sheltered Spot

This sheltered area in my garden is where I sit with a mug of coffee after a morning's gardening. The winter Iris are still flowering and the Camellia is starting to open.

Eclipse

Tried to capture the partial eclipse of the sun this morning, not very successfully.

The camera also hasn't captured the eerie  light when the eclipse was at its maximum.

It may be the first day of spring, meteorologically speaking but we've had flurries of  snow this morning and Jack Frost has decorated the conservatory windows.

Theme Day, Ageing.

The saxon column in St. Peter's gardens has been ageing
